A phone shop, not a faceless website
IMEI.repair is run out of a working phone shop in Michigan. We are not a reseller who found a niche online. We buy, sell and repair handsets over a counter every day, and this site exists because we needed it ourselves.
Why we built it
Anyone who trades used phones knows the moment: someone puts a handset on the counter, the price is agreed in principle, and you have about ninety seconds to work out whether it is clean, locked, activation locked, or reported stolen. Get it wrong and you have bought a paperweight.
The checks that answer those questions have always existed, but the sites selling them tend to hide the price until you have an account, quote in credits rather than dollars, and go quiet when a check comes back empty. We wanted the opposite: every price published openly, results in seconds, and an automatic refund when a lookup returns nothing. So we built it, and then opened it to other dealers.
How it works
We buy device data and unlock capacity wholesale and resell it with a margin. Nothing is scraped, guessed or invented. A carrier report comes from carrier data; a blacklist result comes from the reporting database. Where a source returns nothing, you get your money back rather than a shrug.
Two ways to buy. Pay as you go costs nothing to open and charges per check. Business accounts run on prepaid credit at dealer rates, and are reviewed by hand before they go live — which is why approval is not instant.
What we will not do
We do not remove blacklist entries for stolen phones, we do not sell software bypasses dressed up as factory unlocks, and we will tell you when something cannot be done rather than take the money and go quiet. If you are checking a device you do not own or are not authorised to handle, we are the wrong supplier.
